Waste Auditing Experts (WAE) is an independent Australian consultancy helping businesses, property owners and public sector organisations improve waste operations, reduce costs and achieve measurable sustainability outcomes.
We work across commercial offices, shopping centres, retail and quick service restaurants, hotels and hospitality, education, healthcare, government and industrial facilities, supporting individual sites, multi-site businesses and large property portfolios.
Combining accurate waste data with a detailed understanding of how each organisation operates, we review collection arrangements, contractor costs, infrastructure and day-to-day practices to identify inefficiencies, contamination issues and missed recovery opportunities. We then work with facilities managers, cleaners and waste contractors to put improvements in place and measure the results.

About us
With more than two decades of experience in the waste industry, we’ve seen firsthand how confusing, costly and overcomplicated waste management can be.
Waste Auditing Experts (WAE) was founded by Alex, John and Matt, three old friends who saw an opportunity to combine their expertise and offer a better, more practical approach.
Our purpose is simple: help organisations understand their waste operations, find where money and resources are being lost, and make meaningful improvements that last.
Our team’s experience spans hundreds of waste audits and more than 360 NABERS Waste Ratings across Australia. This experience informs our advice, but every operation is different, so our recommendations reflect the people, processes and practical constraints behind the data.
We believe good waste management should be achievable for every organisation, not just those with large sustainability teams. That means honest advice, clear priorities and realistic improvements. We also support consultancy partners with specialist waste expertise.
